Although Strasbourg has a high status in the Vatican, the Rohan Palace still seems too luxurious. This former bishop's palace can be compared with many top palaces, with one side facing the church and the other side facing the water.

Roughly northeast of Strasbourg, right next to the European Court of Human Rights is a modern glass-walled building. I passed by it a few times and it seemed quite empty. When there were meetings or events, they would be on alert.

The Orange Garden is a public activity park full of artistic atmosphere. As soon as you enter the main entrance, you will see some posters, just like university clubs recruiting people. It is clean and tidy inside, with many modern sculptures.

The absolute size is not large, but in small European cities, such a square is already the center of the city, and there is a row of small houses between the square and the cathedral, so the spire of the church can be seen hanging in the air.

Strasbourg is near the border between France and Germany, so the city offers a very unique blend of both French and German influences, which is reflected in their architecture and cuisine. We spent one day exploring the most iconic sites, which included the Strasbourg Cathedral, the Palais Rohan, la Petit France, and just generally strolling down the medieval streets and popping in and out of the shops and restaurants. I would love to go back to Strasbourg in winter time to visit the world famous Christmas Market!

The Big Island is the essence of Strasbourg, the site of the Little France and the Cathedral, an old town with a moat, and the train station is connected to the north, where hiking is the most important way to travel.

Barrage Vauban

One of the best views of Strasbourg definitely belongs to Barrage Vauban with the standing three towers. The best view has to be from the air as always and the best route is above the dam opposite the towers right across. Take the stairs up to the second level and you will be able to see the whole picture. You will be able to view Cathedral Norte Dame from here as well. Be aware that the stairs will closed at 9pm during spring and summer seasons. This area happens to be the best sunset viewing platform as well.
