What People Are Saying About Diemen

Van Gogh Museum

M80***23
- The world's largest Van Gogh collection: located in Amsterdam, Netherlands, opened in 1973, with more than 200 Van Gogh oil paintings (accounting for his life), more than 500 sketches and 750 letters, including the peaks of Sunflower (1889 edition), Bedroom, Crow in the Rye, etc. Completely presents his transformation from early realism to late impressionism style. - Narrative exhibition design: sorting out Van Gogh's life according to the timeline, from the "Potato Eaters" in the Dutch countryside to the color transformation influenced by Impressionism in Paris, and then to the strong brush strokes in the Arles period, and finally ending with the manuscript of "Starry Night" in the San Remi Sanatorium. Combine the original letter with the original and the living supplies (such as the palette), restore the artist's spiritual world. Architecture and experience: dialogue between art and space - Modernist architectural landmarks: designed by architect Lille van de Houft, pure white geometric facade and glass atrium echo Van Gogh's paintings of light and shadow, spiral staircase and high-rise exhibition hall in the museum form a flowing viewing line, The top floor terrace overlooks the city view of Amsterdam, which is an extension of the art field itself. - Technology empowers immersion experience: In addition to the regular exhibition, the museum has a multimedia interactive screen, which can enlarge the painting details and analyze the brush stroke technique; The night special exhibition "Van Gogh immersive light and shadow show" uses projection technology to project "Sunflower" and other works to the wall, with classical music, so that the audience "enter" the scene in the painting.

Amsterdam Canal Cruises

There were a lot of people queuing at the boarding point at the central station, and the cruise ship was basically full. Everyone was given a headset on board, which was plugged into the headphone jack next to them. They said there would be Chinese explanations, and there were indeed Chinese explanations, but they didn't say a word in total. The cruise ship was on the water for a full hour.

Royal Palace Amsterdam

- Witness the historical changes: The Palace of Amsterdam was built in 1648, originally as a city hall, and later transformed into a palace by Napoleon's brother, witnessing the historical changes of the Netherlands from the glory of the Golden Age to the Napoleonic period. - Bearing cultural heritage: As an important symbol of Dutch history, the theme of the interior decoration of the palace is mostly related to the great Amsterdam and the Dutch Republic, and it vividly shows the cultural heritage and development history of the Netherlands. Architectural Artistic Features - Unique architectural structure: The palace is built with 13659 piles, supporting the whole building, is one of the miracles of architectural history, its stability is amazing. - Fine interior and exterior decoration: Although the exterior is affected by the climate, the exterior is gorgeously decorated, with paintings, sculptures, and exquisite marble floors and ceilings from famous artists such as Rembrandt, showing the beauty of art. Art Collection Values - Rich art collections: The palace is equipped with a collection hall, displaying a large number of precious artworks and artifacts, including paintings, sculptures, furniture and porcelain, which presents the context of Dutch art development for visitors. - Royal Treasures Display: About 2,000 pieces of royal furniture, such as furniture in the style of the First Empire of France, are retained. These treasures are not only exquisite in craftsmanship, but also carry the history and culture of the royal family. Experience - Guided services: Multilingual audio guide equipment is provided to facilitate visitors from different countries to gain insight into the history and cultural connotation of the palace, and even if you visit freely, you can have a good experience.

Rembrandt House Museum

It is a nice small museum in the heart of Amsterdam, Holland. This museum tells the story of Rembrandt as an artist and how he trained his disciples. There are paintings from Rembrandt himself and from his disciples. It is worth to visit and it does not take a long time to go through the whole museum.

Dam Square

The dam square is the square in front of the palace. The area is not large enough to count the surrounding roads. It is visually similar to a football field, but it is the core of the city in Amsterdam. Surrounded by tourist attractions and bustling commercial streets, the square is surrounded by the palace, new church, department stores, Madame Tussauds wax museum, and memorials to the dead. It is within walking distance of Central Station, Anne's House, Waterloo Square, Red 💡 District, Old Church, Canal District, basically no more than 1000 meters. Even to the museum area and the surrounding parks can be walked. Van Gogh Museum, National Museum, etc. are about 2 kilometers. The ground of the square is still the old stone road, no matter day or night, it is lively and extraordinary. Go to the airport directly to take the train at the Central Station, the commercial street and the surrounding area are full of restaurants and bars, and it is very pleasant to have a drink. The square itself is open and no tickets are required.
