This place should be leveled to the ground. It is an old motel turned into a sorry hostel. The infrastructure is more haphazard post apocalyptic than a proper hostel.
It has a liquor store on the premises and it seems that the LOCAL drunks start there and finish up crashing in the hostel.
Overall this place gives an impression of subsidized rehab government housing than a place for tourists.

Have bathroom inside the dorm👍
However no filter water and the water boiler is in bad condition. Only can drink tap water☹️

I stayed for 2 nights and booked a room with double bunk beds. I paid just over 1000 dollars for a 2 night stays (hey it’s Banff!). The door to the bathroom made a loud noise whenever it was opened or closed as the edge of the door was rubbing on the floor each time.
Also, dont fall for the free breakfast. They just have some cereals, bread and jam and its help yourself kinda place. Its basically a hostel and a place to crash. I would have been much happier at a motel but I knew what i was signing up for. Otherwise the bed and the room was clean and they provided what is required for your stay.

I thought it was the good place to stay because of high review rate. However we were very disappointed, almost all "hardware" in the room needs to be remolded (too old). Bedding are too cheap. Parking place is so small and kitchen is mess (even it is clean), breakfast is almost nothing to choose. Any way hostel will be not a good choice for a group of three.

The people were nice but the room was freezing when I arrived. Another guest had left the window open and then the door was also very drafty.
Offered a second space heater and an extra blanket (which had hair on it). They did come to take a look at the draft and said they would work to fix it in the morning.
Sheet also had some stains on it.
Dishes in the shared kitchen also had some hair on them. I was surprised that breakfast was included though so that was good.
New experience for me, wasn't the worst but not sure id hostel it again if I had the choice.

I was worried about theft at a hostel, but roommates were nice and it was perfect if you're in your hotel just to sleep. And you don't come to Banff to sit in a hotel room. Staff was very friendly and I had a comfortable, safe sleep and met some nice folks.
